Am I required to use telepsychiatry

No.  Telepsychiatry is an option that we make available to you.  If you prefer to be seen by a provider in person in a physical clinic, please contact us and we will assist you in making appropriate arrangements.

Q: Will American Telehealthcare providers prescribe controlled substances?

Yes.  All our providers are licensed to prescribe controlled substances in appropriate cases.

Q: Can I be seen in the evenings or on weekends?

Yes. We have very flexible scheduling and will be able to accommodate your reasonable requests with respect to the date and time of your appointment.

Q: Is this confidential?

Yes. All our services are provided on a confidential basis.  Our infrastructure is completely HIPAA- compliant.

Q: Does the therapist or doctor record me in any way?

We do not record the session unless you ask us to.

Q: How do I communicate with my doctor or therapist, and how do they communicate with me?

All communication takes place electronically.  Our exam rooms are all cloud-based.  The communication is managed through our system in the cloud (over the internet), and our headquarters in Milwaukee, WI.

Q: How do your doctors keep records?

Our providers utilize an integrated EMR (electronic medical records) system to record and store all notes in a secure data base.

Q: How are medications prescribed for me?

Prescriptions can be sent directly to the pharmacy of your choice.  All you have to do is pick up the medication.  Alternatively, we can make arrangements to have the medication sent to you via the mail or via an overnight delivery service.

Q: What if I have to cancel an appointment?

Contact us and we will make every reasonable effort to reschedule you.

Q: I have to pay up front for my appointment? Why?

Our system is based on quickly and efficiently arranging for the provision of services to our patients.  Because of the complexities of insurance and other third party reimbursement, we are unable to bill insurance or other third parties.  However, we will provide you an invoice or claim form that you can submit to your insurer, employer or other third party as proof of service, so you can claim reimbursement from them.
